INSPIRATION
Palm Springs, California, is a desert resort city known for its warm climate, stunning mountain views, and iconic mid-century modern architecture. The city has a vibrant and colorful aesthetic that is a testament to the 1950s and 1960s design era. Mid-century modern design is characterized by clean lines, organic shapes, and a minimalist approach to decoration. It incorporates natural materials such as wood, stone, and metal to create a timeless and functional design. His love of Palm Springs and mid-century modern design inspires my artwork in several ways. The vibrant colors and sleek lines of mid-century modern architecture influences his choice of color palettes and composition. The desert landscape of Palm Springs also inspires the use of organic shapes and textures in his artwork.
TECHNIQUES
Brenden’s artwork is usually a combination of acrylic paint and oil paint. He loves the fast drying properties of acrylic to build up the multiple layers, but he enjoys finishing his work with rich and creamy oil paints.
When he’s not doing mixed media work he is occasionally doing acrylic pours or encaustic paintings.
