Aminah Robinson’s The Presidential Suite

On View: September 9 – October 9, 2016

Opening Reception: September 9, 2016 5 – 8 PM

When Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States and our first African-American President, Aminah immediately started a body of work to commemorate this historic event. Hammond Harkins Galleries, in collaboration with the Columbus Museum of Art, is proud to present Aminah’s The Presidential Suite, on view for the first time. Included are works on paper, multi-panel “rag paintings,” and a monumental twenty-five-foot-long RagGonNon – which will be on display at Hammond Harkins Galleries in The Short North. A portion of ThePresidential Suite will be on view at the Columbus Museum of Art starting September 9, 2016. Please stop by both the Columbus Museum of Art and Hammond Harkins Galleries to experience the breadth of Aminah’s late opus created in honor of President Barack Obama.
