Please join us for this exhibition of new work by one of Columbus’ most innovative artists. Re-envisioning traditional artistic mediums, Melissa Vogley Woods creates work that is equal parts materials and ideas. Included in “Well seen becomes sight and song itself,” her second solo exhibition at Hammond Harkins Galleries, are paintings, intimate sculptures, and a site-specific mural installation. This new body of work explores the “fragility, affinity, and ambiance of time.” Vogley Woods states, “In my work, I reclaim historical production to dispel the ideas that history is in the past or still; it instead reverberates and repeats, staying with us, and we carry it in ourselves and through generations.”
Stop in and experience the beautiful contemporary works by Vogley Woods in which color and technique are as important as history and dialogue.
